Syncro Gearboxes BMW M57 to 300tdi R380 Adapter and Flywheel Kit – **COLOUR SILVER** The new Syncro Gearboxes BMW M57 to 300tdi R380 Adaptor Kit allows you to bolt a standard 300tdi R380 to a BMW M57 engine. 50mm thick, Solid Aluminium Billet. You won’t need to use a hybrid box made from rare parts that are hard to source. Any defender or discovery 300tdi R380 will bolt straight up. At 50mm thick its the thinnest adaptor we could achieve when using a standard 300tdi R380 Includes CNC machined aluminium billet adaptor and various caphead screws to bolt the adaptor to the block,, spigot bush, dowels etc. You must use your bmw ring gear from a bmw flex plate or flywheel with a 270mm inside diameter. These can be found on manual flywheels and auto flexplates. Flywheel to suit any tdi/tgv fitment clutch cover and plate. ANY STANDARD 200/300 TDI, TGV FITMENT CLUTCH MAY BE USED Fitting Guidance Designed to work with our Sold Mass Flywheel and the smaller X5 starter motor and will require minimal grinding of the bell housing near the new starter motor position as well as removal of 10mm of the end of the guide tube. Assembling flywheel. – You will need a 270mm INTERNAL DIAMETER ring gear. Shrink the ring gear onto the flywheel but heating ring gear and then dropping it onto the flywheel. Allow to cool fully before fitting flywheel. Start with the engine prepped and old flywheel, clutch and dust cover removed. Ensure existing engine dowels are fitted, then place dust shield onto dowels against engine block. Bolt adapter to engine block, sandwiching the dust shield. Fit spigot bush in end of crank shaft. Fit flywheel. Use supplied flywheel spacer between flywheel and crank. Fit starter motor. Fit clutch kit. Bolt up gearbox. Ensure that dowels are fitted to the adapter and that the release bearing and clutch fork are fitted as normal. Fit starter motor cover triangle.
